Welcome to the Lubbock, TX Vital Statistics Office birth and death certificate online ordering system. Online requests will be processed during normal business hours, Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Birth certificates are only available through this site to those born in the state of Texas.  Death certificates are only available if the person passed away in Lubbock County.

This is an official request from the Vital Statistics Office in Lubbock, Texas. Birth and Death Certificates are legal documents and will be treated as such.  The information contained in this request is considered private. Please be sure to complete all fields within the order and upload the required information.

You will be notified by email when your order has been approved.  At that time, your order is ready for pick-up, or your document will be mailed within one business day.

The payment will be paid through Permitium Payments.  The charge will show on your credit card statement as 'PermVitalRecs'. This is a secure and trusted provider of payment services.

Please note the following:

• Birth records for Lubbock, Texas are available back to 1926.  Abstracts are available for those born in Texas only.
  
  
• Death Records are available only for those who died in Lubbock County.
  
  

Processing of Birth and Death Certificate Applications:

- You will receive an email notification when your application has successfully been submitted into the online ordering system.

- You will receive a second email notification and a phone call when our office has notified you of needed documents or questions regarding your order.

- Once your application has been Approved, a confirmation email will be sent to notify you that your document is ready for pick-up, or will be mailed the following business day.

• If your application has been Denied, you will be notified by email.  The Lubbock Texas Vital Statistics Office requires a $10.00, non-refundable, Search Fee to process your request. The Search Fee, Service Fee, and any related credit card fees are considered NON-REFUNDABLE.  The remaining Payment Amount (additional certificate fees, shipping fees) will be automatically refunded back to the applicant's credit card or bank account. 

-Please allow up to two weeks for our office to process your order. Depending on the time of year, this processing time could be shorter or longer. However, we do our very best to fill these orders in a timely manner and process in the order in which they are received.

- Additional time may be added to the order if information or documentation is requested from the applicant.  Please be aware that we will contact you, via the provided email address, with specific instructions when additional information is required.

**Pickup Orders are not automatic, and they are processed in the order they are received. Processing times will vary, and we make every effort for quick turnaround times. Please allow 1-2 weeks for your pickup order to be ready.

• Warning: The penalty for knowingly making a false statement in this form can be 2-10 years in prison and a fine up to $10,000 (Health and Safety Code 195.003)
